Would Ashton and Demi
still be together if they had and
Open Marriage?
Considering the divorce rate of the rich and famous of Hollywood, it comes as no
surprise that Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are joining the ranks of the divorced. It must be terribly difficult to maintain a monogamous
relationship with all that fame and money not to mention the time apart with thousands of adoring fans clamoring
for your attention wherever you go. I'm being dead serious.
We've publicly watched the downfall of many happy unions in the press because of
infidelity. And while so many will bash the cheater, drop his/her endorsement s because of multiple torrid
affairs the fact is that it's human nature to desire others. Why are so many still so oppressed about
everyone else's private life? I bet that many of those companies that dropped Tiger Woods endorsements
because of his personal life have cheaters in the ranks.
When I took my marriage vows there was no
mention that my eyes would no longer find another man attractive. While I live with my husband on a daily
basis and choose to open talk about my attraction to others, I can't imagine being in a situation that would keep
us separate for weeks or even months. How is that a normal marriage in any sense? Many of you believe
that my marriage, while sexy to hear about, is totally abnormal. The difference between what I do and what
the average American does is I have sex with others WITH permission. Before you tell me that I am wrong and
most marriages are totally monogamous you might want to think again.
Cheating is about sneaking about, lying and hiding things from your significant
other. What if Ashton had been honest with Demi regarding the notion that he was lonely or in need of
attention from other women? Would their marriage had lasted longer?
More couples are staying together because of financial woes. For so many of
the economically challenged divorce is just not an option. But with the super rich and famous divorcing at a
high rate, more people will profit from the deterioration of their lives. The divorce lawyers will be richer,
the paparazzi will profit more from their pictures and the news rags will sell more copies.
In the end, if Ashton had sat down with Demi and discussed his needs maybe they
would have come to an agreement to try out a lifestyle that allows them to have their cake and eat it too!
Instead...everyone else is eating their cake - straight from their pockets.
