Fetish:  what does it really mean?

While every claims to have a fetish, do we all really have a fetish or do we just have preferences and likes?  Many seem to proudly proclaim their fetish as if its a sexual badge. I like small feet, tying someone up is a huge turn on, or a woman in thigh highs makes my hormones dance like a bacon on a hot skillet.  While all these things might turn you on do you need them to get off?

Seth, from Tampa's 97x Fisher and Boy morning show, discusses regularly his fixation of his girl wearing high heels in bed.  He has stated on many occasions that she must always wear those heels in bed.  Does this qualify as a fetish?  Maybe.  The actual definition states that the object or body part is a necessary part of sexual gratification.  Would Seth be capable of completing the task at hand without those heels?  Or must he in fantasize that she is wearing heels in the event that she doesn't?  If the answers are no and yes - Seth has a true fetish.

Everyone enjoys a little this or that in bed.  Maybe your enjoyment is a little different than the next guys.  I like my nipples pinched hard during orgasm.  While I don't NEED this to occur in order to get off I do rather enjoy it when it happens.   

I suppose the term could be interchangeable and doesn't necessarily have to represent the actual definition.
