online dating

Are online dating sites biased against men?

Sign up for almost any online dating site and I bet you will find that women have the better deal. Whether you are posting a profile on a singles dating site, swinger dating site, or one of the many sites out there for and elicit affairs, most women pay little or almost nothing while men usually get stuck with the bill.

While male discrimination is nothing new to the swinger world.  Single men are perceived as pariahs - excluded from Saturday nights at the swinger club or banned entirely.  Thought of as a nuisance, men are black-balled  in the swinger lifestyle simply because of few bad seeds just can't quite grip how the 'swinger system' works.

The male swinger behavior is not to blame for the high cost of online dating - they are just a result of a never ending 'problem' in a man's world.  Men are always looking for the next hook-up.  Since so many sexually under stimulated men are prowling online dating sites, the need for women is quite high.  Online dating sites take this need as a means to make a p

It's rather easy for a woman to pick a man up.  Paying big bucks for online dating just isn't necessary to satisfy a woman's need that seems only intense during ovulation.  A wink and a smile will bring any undersexed man begging.  So how else to you expect these sites to draw women to their site other than allowing them virtually free access?

After you poor men have paid serious money in an attempt to find the woman of your dreams, emailed the only 12 halfway decent women on the site, and received absolutely no responses in return, do you finally accept defeat? You have registered for a varitety of dating sites that cover vanilla dating - Match.com, somewhat alternative dating - Adult Friend Finder, and finally swinger dating -  Swingers Date Club  with no luck you just might feel the need to take this dating thing in a new direction.

The newest dating style on the interwebs is paying  your date to go out with you.  Yes, I do mean offering to pay her cash and then footing the bill for the evening as well.  While this may seem like an escort service or even prostitution, the site What's Your Price claims you are only paying for an opportunity.

After you guys have paid out the wahzoo for to find a date on multiple websites without much luck you now have to pay even more just to get her attention.  Does this mean online dating sites are biased against men?  Is this male discrimination?  Sure seems that way to me.

What is your take? Would you pay to get a date?

3 - I have had several good encounters on AFF and ALT, those are the only sites I have tried now I just go to Strip Clubs. The encounters were actually very good, although several of the women were not what I had hoped for since their pics were one thing and they were another. None the less the encounters were worth it. One particular girl I got together with her ex-husband and her for a threesome and it was great sex. She and I later got together one time without the ex and she was really into it with me and I with her. She later said she wanted a permanent relationship and did not want to encourage me to have a relationship outside of my marriage. I respected her for that, was disappointed since I really could have had a long term relationship with this woman. It caused me to keep the relationships more fun and to develop them through strip club encounters.

2 - Great blog. I'm not sure watch your stance is on guys, who are essentially cheating, married playing single. But I know you are aware it happens for what ever reason. My situation is frequency or lack there of. I do think guys who aren't part of a couple do seem to be treated as pariah. We do pay a bit more financially as well as socially. I am on a couple of sites and for the most part I get ignored. I'm not a bad looking guy but honest about my situation. What I have found is most couples don't want to "help me cheat" or a woman wants a couple or looking for a mate.

I know there are single assholes who have mad a difficult situation worse for those of us who are actually pretty nice guys that just want a little extra. Clubs here allow a single maybe on Friday night but make you pay through the nose to get in. I never thought it would be this tough to find a fuck buddy.

1 - OK Cupid has some interesting thoughts/methodology on the matter. (The post was removed from their blog when they were bought by match.com) http://interestingreads.posterous.com/why-you-should-never-pay-for-online-dating-ok ... A friend of mine started another site with a completely different idea: http://www.geekissingle.com/
